For the lady that loves to sparkle
Many many moons ago when I first started The Sarky Cow, (in the back of my freezing cold florist), I created all kinds of personalised gifts with the intention of selling them from my actual bricks and mortar shop.
We all know how that went... if you don't, there's a blog about that.
Anyway, amongst the collection were handmade glitter glasses. I tried etching at first and although there is something really classy about etched glasses, I very soon realised that, like myself, people loved colour so I developed my own colourful collection. And, I have to say, they were a hit straight away, and by the time 2020 hit, I was making and packing 250 orders a week... I know, I still haven't caught up on the sleep I lost!
But, aside from the fact that the whole world was mad at that point, I was never thrilled with what I was making. Customers loved them so technically there was not anything wrong with them, but I had niggles so I made the decision to stop the glasses and work on my stationery collection instead.
That in itself was a great decision because it allowed me the time to create some fab collections and stationery sets that have continued to flourish up to this day, with the odd tweak here and there of course. I still have another trillion ideas for my stationery sets and work on them constantly.
However, in the back of my mind they always stayed there, glittering away.
Until now.
I recently discovered a new printing technology that means proper colourful designs could be applied to glass and are not only are durable and robust but look vibrant and classy.
Sarky Cow brain overdrive activated...
I scribbled down a million or two ideas for glasses, some of which will never see the light of day and some that will become staple designs for the collection. And then the hard work began that always happens before a launch. Behind the scenes, the research, the graphics; some hand drawn by my very own trotters, the colour collection, getting mock ups ready, testing designs, photography sessions (not my greatest gift) and listing the products on all platforms that I sell on.
When I type the process, it sounds quite quick. Let me assure you, it really isn't!
But, I am happy to say that I now have two collections ready and listed on the website. One is specifically for birthdays but the other is aimed at the people who help us in our every day lives.
So, if you want to buy a gift that will get used, is personal not just personalised and makes you win regional awards for the best gift buyer category, step this way.

If you are looking for a gift for the dental nurse that has everything, look no further for a shiny glass for her fizz after pulling teeth all day or what about something special for the nurse that does 12 hour shifts to look after our relatives, what a great way to wind down.
You might have a special police woman in your life that likes to look all fancy pants when she has 'arrest'.. (I do love a good pun and will not apologise). What better way than her very own sparkly glitter glass.
It could be for the midwife that brings out the child in you.. (I know I know, someone make me stop for the love of God). If anyone deserves their own personalised glitter glass, it has to be them surely.
Or, what about the vet nurse that you struggle to buy for? These are the unsung heroes in my mind, looking after our pooches and kitties when they are poorly. A nice glass of wine at the end of a long day of talking doggo in her own custom made glitter glass is quite the treat.
Or finally, what about the health care worker that helps to keep the hospitals going or look after all the frail and vulnerable in our society. Surely they deserve to feel special themselves after all that hard graft.
At the moment they are priced at £10.50 which I think is quite the steal and means that with postage, it will under £15. Perfect for a stocking filler gift, a secret Santa for a colleague, a birthday or anniversary gift or a 'just because you are fabulous' kinda present.
And because I am now getting all salesy, I will stop right here and let you get on with your day or evening.
Thanks so much for reading, I really do appreciate it. I know I ramble on sometimes but showing the human side of myself is important. It is a connection that I think gets lost sometimes in the massive world of internet.Toodles for now friends.
